A perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use this major version of InkBeepAI for your own use, personal or business. You are buying a licence to use the software, not ownership of it.
Perpetual means the licence does not expire. There is no renewal, no subscription and no date on which it stops. We deliberately do not describe this as a "lifetime" licence, because that word does not say whose lifetime is meant and we would rather be precise than generous-sounding. What you have bought is set out in section 1a.
Two different things are being sold together, and only one of them can honestly be promised without end.
Perpetual — your right to keep using the software. Your licence for this major version never expires. Because the app verifies your licence offline against a cryptographic signature stored on your own machine, it keeps working whether or not our servers exist, whether or not this company exists, and with no internet connection at all. That is a property of how the software is built, not a promise we are asking you to trust.
Not perpetual — services around it. No business can commit to running a service indefinitely, and we will not pretend otherwise. The following are provided on a reasonable-efforts basis and may change or end: the activation server, email support, new releases, compatibility with future versions of Windows, and security updates. Ending any of them does not affect your licence or your installed copy.
Future major versions are not included. If a future major version is released as a separate paid product, your existing licence continues to cover the version you bought, indefinitely.
If we ever discontinue the activation server, we will publish a means of activating without it before doing so, so that a licence you have already paid for remains usable on a machine you have not yet activated.
The number of machines one licence key activates depends on the tier you bought — currently . The tier and its device count are shown on the pricing page and on the page displayed to you after purchase, and are recorded against your licence key.
Activation binds the key to a hardware fingerprint. Reinstalling, replacing a drive or reinstalling Windows on the same machine does not consume an additional activation. If you replace a computer and need a slot freed, contact support and we will free it at no charge. If you need more machines than your tier allows, you can move to a higher tier by paying the difference; your existing key is updated rather than replaced, so machines you have already activated are unaffected.
InkBeepAI verifies your licence offline using a cryptographic signature, so the app keeps working with no internet connection. It contacts our licence server roughly every two weeks, sending only your licence key and up to three anonymous one-way hardware hashes — never audio, never transcribed text, never anything you dictated. If that check fails, times out, or the server no longer exists, the app keeps working. Only an explicit, signed revocation stops it. What those hashes are and why there is more than one is set out in the privacy policy.
Breaching this section allows us to revoke the key. We revoke keys for abuse and for refunded purchases — not for anything else.
InkBeepAI includes third-party open-source components, each under its own licence. Those licences govern those components and nothing here overrides them. Full notices are on the licences page and in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt inside the installed app.
Stripe is the merchant of record for this sale. Stripe processes the payment, calculates and remits applicable sales tax or VAT, and issues your receipt. Refunds are covered by our refund policy.
Fixes and improvements to this major version are included. A future major version may be a separate purchase. We will not disable or degrade a version you have already bought in order to make you upgrade.
The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Speech recognition is inherently imperfect: it will mis-transcribe, and it is your responsibility to read what it produces before relying on it. Do not use InkBeepAI as the sole record where an error would be dangerous or costly.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the software or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for your licence. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. If you bought as a consumer, you may have statutory rights — for example under EU or UK consumer law — that apply regardless of these terms and are not affected by them.
Your licence lasts until you breach section 4 or receive a full refund of what you paid. A partial refund — a goodwill adjustment, for example — does not end your licence and does not revoke your key. On termination you must stop using the software and uninstall it. Sections 8, 9 and 11 survive.
These terms are governed by the laws of , without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Consumer protections available to you in your country of residence still apply.
We may update these terms for future purchases. The terms in force when you bought are the ones that apply to your purchase.
